Yet More Stuff You Never Knew You Wanted To Know
DebR on Feb 17 2007 at 12:01 am | Filed under: It's a Meme Thing
Y’all know how I love those oddball memes that consist of a bunch of random, off-the-wall questions, so here’s another one, lifted from (who else!) Kristen.
What curse words do you use the most?
“Thou pus-filled, syphilitic, bloody, craven varlet!” Ok, not really, but wouldn’t it be interesting if I DID say that all the time? No?? Um, ok.
I say “dammit” a lot. Not “damn” (although I say that one too, along with a variety of other vulgar things), but “dammit.” More specifically, I quite often say “dammit, Jim!” (Name that pop culture reference! C’mon, that’s a super-easy one.)
Do you own an i-pod?
Nope
What time is your alarm clock set to?
It isn’t. I usually just wake up when I wake up. If I need to get up at a certain time, I’m pretty good about just reminding myself of it before I go to bed and waking up then, although if I need to be someplace at a certain time (like an appointment, or catching a plane or something), I’ll set the alarm on those days just to be sure. But 9 times out of 10 I’ll wake up a couple of minutes before it goes off.
Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
I’d rather take the photo. I’m better about being willing to be in it than I used to be though. Doing the self-portrait challenge for so long has helped me get over hating to have my photo taken as much as I used to.
What was the last movie you watched?
“The Lake House” (meh)
What cd is currently in your player?
Some ’80’s hits thing.
Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?
Neither. Bleah.
Has anyone told you a secret this week?
Not that I recall.
When was the last time you had Starcrack Starbucks?
The last time I was in Lexington, which (thanks to our recent crappy weather) was way too long ago!!! (Dammit, Jim!) It’s probably been a month.
Can you whistle?
Sure can!
What are you looking forward to?
Short-term…having a date with J for our anniversary. Mid-term…a possible visit from my friend Morven. Long-term….THIS!
Did you watch cartoons when you were little?
Yep! Want to hear me sing the Spiderman theme song? How about the Scooby-Doo song? The Roadrunner song?? Anyone???
Do you own any band t-shirts?
Nope.
What will you be doing in an hour?
Hopefully sleeping.
What was the last song you heard?
I have absolutely no idea.
Last time you cried?
I’m not sure about that one either. It’s been a while though.
Desktop or laptop?
We have both, but mostly I use the desktop and J uses the laptop.
Desiring any new ink?
I wouldn’t say “desiring” exactly, but I consider it now and then.
What’s the weather like?
Excruciatingly cold, with a chance of more snowfall this weekend.
What were you doing an hour ago?
Watching an episode of “Ugly Betty” I recorded Thursday.
How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
I can function on 5 - 6 if I must, but it won’t be pretty. I’ll be much easier to get along with (not to mention more coherent) if I get 7 - 8.
Do you eat breakfast daily?
I go through cycles where I eat breakfast every day for weeks, and then have nothing but black coffee until lunchtime for weeks.
What did you do last night?
Talked to J, watched a little TV, read a little.
Do you use sarcasm?
Who, ME? Noooooooooooo. Ahem.
Do you like mustard?
It’s ok, mostly, although I don’t like Dijon very much. So if some guy in a limo wants to borrow my Grey Poupon, he’s outta luck.
Do you sleep on your side/back/stomach?
Yes.
(Mostly on my side, but not always.)
Do you watch the news?
Not unless I have to. I’d rather read the news than watch it. TV new announcers almost always annoy the living crap out of me.
How did you get one of your scars?
I have a small scar on one knee that I got when I was a little girl and tried to pick up a friend’s pregnant cat. The cat did not want to be held and let me know it in no uncertain terms.
And that’s it for this installment of Stuff You Never Knew You Wanted to Know! If you want to answer these questions too, just say so in comments and you can consider yourself officially tagged.
Here’s today’s Daily Art Thang, inspired by this past Sunday’s Creative Challenge theme on Create a Connection, where the challenge topic was Yellow.

Dammit, Jim, I’m a doctor, not a bricklayer!!
I was just watching Apollo 13 tonight and commenting on the Star Trek views of the Earth in which there were no clouds. It seems so obvious to us now, but if you’d never been up there…
I just watched the Lake House not long ago. I actually really liked it. I’m not such a huge Keanu fan, but love Sandra!
I love reading you meme answers. Great way to get to know you more.
Your daily art rocks!
I heart yellow!
Have a great Saturday!
XO,
Melba
This is great! I love the crazy memes that give us glimpses into each other. Fun!
hahaha damn it Janet I’ve heard a gazillion times; Rocky Horror Picture show, of course!
I knew the Star Trek reference too. Hmmm…possibly I watch too much pop culture
I LOVE the yellow photo, so bright, so warm. The meme will be copied on my blog in the near future, if that’s ok!
I love when you do memes because you enjoy them and I find myself trying to guess your answers to see how well I’ve gotten to know you
You did an excellent job with yellow!
HUGS & WARMTH
Very good, Rebecca!
And I never thought about those Star Trek views of Earth being cloudless, but they were, weren’t they!
Janet beat me to the RHPC answer, Tammy. I like Sandra too, and I didn’t hate the movie or anything, but the plot holes were gaping wide enough to bug me.
Thanks, Melba! And I hope you had a great Saturday too.
Me too, Letha! Glad you enjoyed it.
Janet, I think maybe “too much pop culture” is an oxymoron.
And YES, take my meme, please!
I love that you play the “guess Deb’s answers” game, Tammy!! You’re in luck too because you’ll have practice when I announce a little contest I’m going to run for my birthday next month. (There’s a HUGE hint for about what the contest will be!)
Oh hurray! I always love your answers Deb, your memes never disappoint. And the DAT is tres cool…..some sort of cutting/quilting device with the yellow thread me thinks??
I always love your meme answers too, K. And yep, that’s a cutter with the thread.
Loved your meme Deb, and have picked it up for my blog. I thought it was a Startrek reference, but the Rocky Horror one was more up my alley. All-time-fave-musical - I could recite the dialogue and sing all the songs (if my audience were deaf - I’m a terrible tho enthusiastic singer).
