Random Items from the Junk Drawer of My Mind #88

1. Check out today’s weather forecast. Specifically, check out what we’re supposed to get on Saturday compared to the rest of the work week.

Ggggrrrrr…. I need to move or something. Except, you know, for the part where I can never move again because I have way too many books to be humanly expected to move them but I refuse to give them up. So. The weather must change. Hear that weather?? I’m not giving up, dammit! So straighten up your act!! Hmph.

2. To the person who was searching for information on the topic, “When do you wear red shoes?”

When don’t you!?! Ok, maybe not so much to a funeral. And personally, I probably wouldn’t wear them with a cotton-candy-pink outfit (too Barbie) or a green outfit (too Santa’s Elf). But mostly I figure you can wear red shoes anytime you’d wear black shoes. You just have to wear them with a little extra dose of Attitude. ;-)

3. To the person who was searching for information on the topic, “Why sleep with one foot uncovered?”

Because you’ll suffocate if you don’t! Or at least I will, if I don’t. What…you don’t feel the need for your feet to breathe at night?? How odd.

4. Several times people have asked where I find out things like search phrases people have used to find my blogs or how I found out about Mr. Bad Translator snagging and mangling my posts.

In WordPress you can see those sorts of stats right on your Dashboard when you pull it up to write a post or do any sort of maintenance. But if you use Blogger or some other blogging host that doesn’t have that, there are free services out there that do the same thing if you just stick a little snippet of code into your template. One I’ve used before is StatCounter.

5. Speaking of Mr. Bad Translator, the movie quote I mentioned in that post is from Clueless. No one guessed, so I thought I’d go ahead and spill.

6. Here’s today’s Daily Art Thang.

If it makes you feel any better we had temps in the high 80’s over the past weekend and now it’s much cooler. I think today it might get into the high 60’s. We could always use a little rain out this way so just tell it to make a big U turn and head back out here!

I like my feet to breathe, too!

Beautiful flower today….soft and ruffly and creamy-colored.

    Pretty flower photo!

I’ve found the foot sticking out of the covers can be an effective temperature regulator. If you’re hot, sticking your foot out will cool you down, and if you’re cold, putting it back under the covers makes you feel warmer.

Oh, I love those flowers. Isn’t that so pretty?! So girly.

Hey, Deb, that looks like a fine weather forecast to me. It has alternately been grey. rainy, sunny, and SNOWING here in Western Washington this afternoon. I hate it when they let the schizophrenics run the weather.
