Know & Tell (not quite) Friday: The Famous Edition

Know & TellI hadn’t played K & T the past couple of weeks because the questions just weren’t relevant to me, but I thought this week’s edition - hosted by Kayren - was fun, so I’m playing along.

1. If you could meet one famous actor, who would it be and why?

George Clooney, because he grew up just about 30 miles from here and still has family in the area and I think it would be fun to talk to a local boy made famous and see what it was like going from a Kentucky farm to Hollywood. Plus, not so hard on the eyes during the conversation, yes? :-)

2. What one question would you ask him?

I’d ask him if his dad had any plans to try again to get into local/state politics. I voted for him (George’s dad, Nick) a few years ago when he ran for office and was disappointed when he didn’t win - not because he’s George’s dad, but because I sincerely think he would have done a good job. I knew of Nick long before George became famous from growing up watching him anchor the local news. Also, if I’d get a bonus question, I’d just have to ask, why a pot-bellied pig for a pet??

3. If you could meet one famous actress, who would it be and why?

Ashley Judd, for the same reason, although her home town is a bit further away from me - more like 60 miles or so. But still, she’s a Kentucky girl and I’d like to hear her thoughts on that transition.

4. What one question would you ask her?

I’d ask her what it was about acting that pulled her in that direction instead of getting into music like her mother and sister.

5. What is your all-time favorite comedy movie and why?

I don’t really have a single all-time favorite movie in any category. I looooove movies and have many, many favorites, the order of which could shift daily depending on my mood. One of my favorites is A Fish Called Wanda because I love that style of ensemble humor and the quirkiness of it.
6. What is your favorite all-time tv show and why?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because Joss Whedon is a god and that show (like all his shows!) was simply brilliant - sad, funny, quirky, smart, complicated, and ever-changing.

7. What is your all-time favorite action or drama movie and why?

Again, no true favorite, but I’ll choose one from among many - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Raiders of the Lost Ark. (Oops - thanks, Julie! That’s what I get for writing before coffee. LOL!) The first Indy movie is still my fave of the series and really, what’s not to like? Harrison Ford in his prime, great action sequences, a little romance, some villains to vanquish - good stuff!

Ditto on the Clooney thing. I’d have to do the interview elsewhere since there are too many relatives of mine in Maysville and that’s a scary thing. Can I come over to your house instead for the interview?
Hope things calm down for you soon. Always happy to “hear” your voice.

I think you meant Raiders of the Lost Ark? Which was the first Indiana Jones movie. Temple of Doom was, imho, by far the worst of the series.

I love Ashley Judd, and that would be a great question. And Harrison Ford is one of my all-time favorites. We just got done watching Raiders of the Lost Ark too. It was the first time I’d seen it in over ten years probably and I’d forgotten most of it.

Thanks for playing…hope you’ll come back and do it again next week!

It’s really hard, if not impossible, to pick just one movie in any category. Good choice, though.

I love Ashley Judd. She would be great to meet and chat up. She is such a sexy, smart chick.

Have you watched the new vampire show on showtime? True Blood? Good! No Buffy, okay fine. But good. Quirky and I think only going to get better.
