Red Shoe Ramblings

Let’s hope I can get this thing posted. My internet connection is being way flukey this morning - very annoying! Anyway, assuming I can post anything at all, let’s interrupt the Caribbean Adventures again so I can share some Good Stuff, ‘k? ‘k!

Kay Hooper, a writer whose books I really enjoy, was running a contest on her website this week. The challenge was to send her a photo of yourself reading her latest book, and the prizes were signed ARCs (advanced reader copies) of her next book in the series and a gift certificate to Fireside Books and Gifts. I submitted this photo:

…and I won second place!! Yay!!! Thanks, Kay! I love contests where the prize is books!

(BTW, how much do you love the way Ranger and Trixter are hanging out in that photo? They do that all the time - quite often even closer and more cuddly than they were there!)

I always kind of cringe at the passing along part because I want to give awards to everyone I read, but OTOH, I love getting awards (probably silly of me, but true) so it’s only fair to pass them along. So…

I think writing is good and powerful when it’s honest, from the heart, and leaves you with the feeling that you’ve been honored with a true glimpse into someone’s mind and life on both good days and bad. So on that basis, I’m passing this award on to:
