Random Items from the Junk Drawer of my Mind #85

1. I posted a few further hints for the four movies left un-(correctly)-guessed in my latest movie quote round, so if you’re enjoying the game, check them out and see if the hints jog them loose for you.

2. While you’re at it, check out Tammy’s blog - she just posted her movie quote list and I’m the only person who has guessed so far, so it’s wide open! I’m looking forward to the answers being revealed because she has some great quotes!

3. If you’ve been enjoying the game and aren’t totally sick of it yet, check back next week at about the same time as before - Wednesday or Thursday or so - and I think I’m going to post a “Guilty Pleasures” round of movie quotes - lines from movies I love, but am a little (or in a few cases a lot!) embarrassed to admit that I love! I think it’ll be a fun one.

4. Speaking of checking back, check back tomorrow if you’re interested in the barn quilt thing because, in between making some attempt to clean up my nasty, disgusting house, which has gotten vile even by my admittedly-lax housekeeping standards, I plan to try to track down some links and things today and write a little something about it for tomorrow.

5. Related to absolutely none of the above, I just have to say how much I LOVE the shoe styles this Spring!! It’s been years since I’ve seen a fashion season where nicer, dressier shoes (as opposed to Chucks or cheapy-deap flip-flops, which - don’t get me wrong - I love and wear, but still…they’re really their own little category) are so bright and colorful! Check out the little kitten-heel strappy slides I bought yesterday:

hot slides

They’ll go great with a filmy-floaty skirt I have for Spring/Summer, that has flowers in those same hot colors splashed all over a white background.

I think I’m going to have to work it into the budget to stock up on shoes this season, before the designers forget themselves and send us all back into the Dark Ages of Neutrals, because I LOVE bright shoes (as you may have guessed from my blog name…heh) and it’s been a desert out there for buying them for several years now. If I buy them now, trust me - I’ll still be wearing them long after they are supposedly “out.” Pppfffttt.

6. Here’s today’s Daily Art Thang - one last look at the covered bridge I’ve shown you the past couple of days. It’s an often-photographed view where you’re looking at the church through the tunnel made by the bridge.

LOVE those shoes!! I was shopping yesterday and I also noticed all the pretty colors they have out now. I may have to splurge on a few pairs myself.

Great photo!! Did you happen to see Clint anywhere around when you snapped that photo?? :-)

Deb, love the shoes — they are you!
I found a website today that reminded me of you too as it combines photography and sewing.

We don’t have many covered bridges in this part of the country, so it’s always nice to see one.
